Before the first
light of the sun hits the beach,
The sand turned
golden under her feet,
I just stared at her,
spellbound, with no power of speech,
For it seemed from my
life the fog had lifted, my search complete.
The faint starlight
danced in her hair as she walked around,
Here she was, the
vision I had glimpsed in my dreams again and again,
Her smile filling my
senses, and I felt like I would drown,
Everything in the
world felt shallow and vain.
As she sat under the
shade of a tree,
The blue waters of
the ocean stealthily crept up and kissed her feet,
She giggled and it
was the sweetest sound in the world, honest and carefree,
While I stood there,
listening to my own heartbeat.
She glanced at the
sky where the first rays of the rising sun could be seen,
For a second she
looked as she was torn, between desire and duty,
Then she suddenly
turns to me and smiles, her face, calm and serene,
I fall down to my
knees for the face is just raw beauty.
She gets up and walks
to the ocean, yet it felt like the water carried her slowly,
Before I could say
anything to her, she turns around and looks at me,
The first ray of sun
lovingly touched her shoulder, as if a relic holy,
She shimmers and
disappears right in front of me.
A faint smell of jasmine hangs in the air,
With me left kneeling
on the ground,
The water of the
ocean consoling me, knowing it was not fair,
To have lost her,
only after knowing briefly, as to what I had found.
