Last day of Sunshine

Today the sun didn't shine,
Now my words may never rhyme,
For today, I realize I lost before I could even start,
Now there is only an empty space in place of my heart.

I felt love, I felt joy,
Didn't know, in fate's plans, I was just a toy,
lost, I wander in valleys unknown,
For here she wont hear my soul cry and moan.

I loved her smile, Nay, I always will,
Yet her admission, was my poison pill,
For the dreams, I had seen were shattered,
in these harsh winds, they were scattered.

For today, the sun didn't shine.

I thought I would be able to win her heart,
Now all I do is try and not fall apart,
Maybe the fault is mine, or maybe its destiny,
But for me, this feels like the death penalty.

No prayers answered, No divine intervention,
If I had to fail, why did I ever have these feelings of affection,
Her beautiful smile, may it always be radiant,
For my love would always be her constant.

As the vultures of despair start descending,
I bid her love, even with my broken heart aching,
As tears roll down my eyes,
I know with a smile, She I would never despise.

For today, the sun didn't shine,
for today, was my last day without sunshine.

Lovers of our past

A man goes on a journey when he is born,
Through pain and happiness, his soul is torn,
He goes on living, looking at the beautiful sky,
searching for some meaning, the answer to his single why.

Traversing the sea and the land,
searching for his answer even in the tiny grains of sand,
Hoping to see what and who he longs for,
Silently, fulfilling his duties, yet his heart and mind are at war.

A breath of fresh air, guides him,
a faint smell of Jasmine, like a haunting hymn,
makes the next step a bit easier to take,
the next smile easier to fake.

Weary from his exhaustion,He takes another step and falters,
He has come far, far away from his home by the waters,
In this wilderness of pain and tears,
He has grown old, His strength is gone, and his heart is full of fears.

He knows not what is the answer, emptiness he alone can comprehend,
Yet he knows his time is at an end,
He looks up and sees her smiling down at him,
He knows its her, the answer he has been searching for, even though his sight grows dim.

He asks, "Why have I found you at my journeys end?"
She answers, "For I have walked by you and guided your path, For I was here in your heart, where you didn't look me."
and his heart and mind stop their war, at peace at last,
Ti's ends the story of two lovers of our past.
