As she fell from heaven,
He knew if he didn't save her, his love for her would never be proven,
So he dived after her, going faster and faster,
With his sleek wings breaking, one by one, just so he could reach her.
To save her, any war he would win,
To save her, he would commit any and all sin.
She opened her eyes, in shock, when his arms slid around her waist,
To crumble into the dust of hell, he braced,
Yet he prayed to the entire universe,
To save her, for he had already chosen his course.
He made a bargain lasting an eternity,
His soul for hers, a fair exchange, no absurdity,
As he opened his arms, to let her free,
Love and understanding in his eyes, she could see.
To save her, any war he would win,
To save her, he would commit any and all sin.
Now he stays, deep underground,
The only one without a soul, where he was crowned,
Never regretting the choices made to save his love,
Yes, the devil was an angel in love, from heaven up above.
