Under Her Spell

It started to rain as she started to dance,

Every one that saw her was put in a trance,

Her eyes flashed with mischief,

She was stealing everyone’s breath, oh she was a beautiful thief.

The clouds parted, the moonlight made her aglow,

Her skin a hint of cocoa,

She had everyone under her spell,

She could lead and everyone would have followed her to hell.

Lost in the beat, I watched her mesmerized,

Suddenly she looked straight at me and I sat paralyzed,

I hoped it wouldn’t end, that she wouldn’t look away,

On me, I prayed for her eyes to stay.

As she smiled at me, her eyes full of amusement,

The moon hid behind a cloud, she was hidden for a moment,

The music paused, my heart skipped a beat,

I suddenly felt incomplete.

As the music started, she was by my side,

Pulled me to my feet, her silken hair untied,

Spinning in circles, we danced, just her and I,

And I knew, there won’t ever be a goodbye….
